Minnesota Friends! I am SUPER STOKED to let you know that I'll be back in the beautiful Midwest this summer and I'd love nothing more than to document YOU and your joyful family while I'm there.

Heyo, I'm Skyler! Family photographer who specializes in documenting honest and heart-felt imagery of families in a way that feels natural, unobtrusive, and most importantly - fun!
My approach is simple: I offer gentle guidance when needed while leaving plenty of space for natural interactions and exploration.
I consider myself a documentary leaning photographer, which I find benefits families the most. Whether you're a high-energy family who's ready for a big adventure or you're looking to keep things more calm and simple, supporting you and your family where ever you are is both my passion and specialty.

Perfect for families with particularly wild or shy kiddos (who may need extra time to warm up), families who want those unique docu-style images, or those wanting more variety in their gallery! I love treating these sessions like a fun family adventure rather than a formal photo session. I'll prep you ahead of time to ensure you're prepared for our adventure together and of course offer gentle guidance throughout the session.

Perfect for families who want just a few updated photos and don't want the full works. This is a speedy session to document your favorite staple shots, perfect for busy families and restless kiddos. We'll run through all your different group combos and use any leftover time for more fun, documentary style imagery!

Using the calendar below, select your preferred time-slot. Morning and evening sessions are great for outdoors, while mid-day sessions are optimal for in-home. Keep in mind the times listed are approximate. We'll make minor adjustments depending on your chosen location and the sun's schedule that day. Let me know you're preferred session option!
You can expect my response within one business day. I'll answer any questions you may have, provide some helpful advice on preparing for your session, and send over your custom proposal! A small retainer and your signature will ensure the reservation. Let the anticipation begin!
Once you've paid your retainer and I've received a signature, you're good to go! We'll dive into all the fun details about your session including the location, advice on what to wear, and preparing you and your fam-bam for a fun-filled adventure!

Skyler was incredible to work with from start to finish! Everything was easy - she communicated clearly, explaining the process, what to expect and answering questions before I even had time to ask them. I truly felt prepared and at ease when my family showed up to our shoot with Skyler and all of that played into the actual photo shoot being just as easy and FUN! Skyler instantly connected with both my kids (they still ask if they can have another playdate with her :)) and was so acutely tuned into their needs and their personalities as she moved through our session together. And the absolute best part? What felt like an easy fun afternoon out with our family turned into incredible art! Skyler is as skilled as an artist as she is at running her business - the images we got back were jaw-dropping-beautiful! (And that's not something I typically say about photos of myself ha!). She captured our family's energy and our personalities in such an artful way. We will look back on and treasure these photos forever.

Yes, I love to travel! I am based in Afton, MN and most sessions take place within a 30 mile radius of zip code 55001. A small travel fee will be added for every mile beyond.
You will receive an email with your online gallery of images 4 weeks after our photographic session. Event photography can take up to 6 weeks for gallery turnaround due to the higher volume of images. Want rushed delivery? You can add it to your package!
Upon receiving your online gallery, you will be given access to an online shopping portal where you can order prints, canvases, albums, and a variety of other fine art options. This is a great option for extended family members. Simply send them the link to the gallery and they can order from the comfort of their own home!
Absolutely! Simply ask, and we'll co-create a payment plan that works for you. Payment must be made in full on the date of your session.
I have always been drawn to documentary-style photos and firmly believe your natural beauty doesn't require Photoshop. However, I will remove any temporary blemishes and every image delivered will be edited with my signature style.
In my personal opinion, I recommend finding something that's already in your closet. These images are meant to reflect you during this special time in your life. But if you feel more comfortable starting fresh, that's totally okay too! First and foremost, I want you to be comfortable and feel like yourself. Upon booking, I'll share a list of helpful tips that will support you in narrowing down your clothing options. I offer as much or as little support as you want, so don't hesitate to snap a picture of your outfit options and send it my way!
Oh, so hard to choose! This is totally up to you and your vibe (and sometimes the weather). In home sessions have a much cozier and easy-going feel to them while outdoor sessions can bring more play and adventure. I personally love both. If you're having a hard time deciding, I'll gladly hop on a phone call to discuss the options and what I recommend for your specific session.
Unfortunately I do not offer studio photography at this time in Minnesota.
I shot a lot of film back in college and have recently been diving back into it during my sessions! Since I’m still working out the kinks, I do offer one complimentary roll of film per session - just ask! If you want any additional rolls, they are $100 per roll.
