Cheryl and Lee’s family session with their two little ones was an absolute dream. I knew Cheryl from my previous job at Marin Montessori but hadn’t seen her in years! So I was super excited to reconnect and meet her family.
We scheduled the session for 11am, right in between the girl’s gymnastics lessons and their naptime. I don’t normally do mid-day shoots but understand it can be hard for families with little ones to swing a sunrise or sunset session. So I make sure to have a few spots in my back pocket that provide beautiful light all day long. Sorich Park in San Anselmo is one of those spots. The eucalyptus groves provide uninterrupted open shade and delightfully long shadows.
The day was sunny and warm enough to not need a jacket. We walked around and explored, enjoying the fresh air while the girls entertained themselves by jumping off fallen trees and old stumps. The only thing that went amiss during the session was having encountered, too closely, some leftover dog poo that had not been picked up by the owner. (Tsk tsk!) I felt so awful! Next time I’m definitely bringing doggie bags and will pick up that shi* myself ahead of time.
I hope you enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites from this session!
Warmly,
Skyler
