Devol Family Sunrise Session on the West Coast

I love the Devols so much. I’ve known Mike and Leanne for almost three years now. I met them through my partner. They are what I would call a free-spirited power couple. Mike is the bass player for Greensky Bluegrass. If you’re a bluegrass fan and haven’t given them a listen yet, I would highly recommend it. Leanne is a teacher, mother, yogi, and photographer…I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot! They are laid back, goofy, stylish, and real. This is the second time I’ve photographed their family and the second time we found ourselves with our toes in the sand. Side Note: I am very quickly falling in love with beach sessions and find myself recommending them to clients again and again! So don’t be surprised if you inquire and I share three different beach options for the session location! 😀

I’m not going to go into too much detail about their session. Partly because I’m super behind in typing up my family sessions, but also because I truly feel that the images say much more than my written words. I will say that, since we are good friends, we made a day of it. My boyfriend and I drove down to Waddell beach early Sunday morning to capture these special images. Afterwards we grabbed breakfast from a farmer’s market in Santa Cruz, hung out in their new house(!!), and hit another beach later in the afternoon. It was truly a phenomenal day and I am so happy to call these beautiful people my friends. <3 Please enjoy scrolling through my favorite images from this adorable session.
