A Summer Backyard Wedding in Minnesota

Ellen and Myles’ backyard wedding in Minnesota was one that will always hold a special place in my heart! Ellen is actually my cousin on my mom’s side of the family. So not only did I get to document my cousin’s beautiful summer wedding, but I was able to preserve these memories through photos for her, Myles, and their kiddos! I have over 30 cousins on my mom’s side and there were a ton of family present, so it was an incredibly special day. They chose the perfect location for their wedding as well – their own backyard in Chisholm, Minnesota. It had ample amount of space for an outdoor wedding celebration and they have such a beautiful property. It was a day full of fun, laughs, and memories!

Ellen & Myles Summer Backyard Wedding in Minnesota

Both Ellen and Myles’ days started out by getting ready separately with their wedding parties. It was a relaxing morning and Ellen looked so beautiful in her dress! Ellen did first looks with her bridesmaids, her father, her children, and then with Myles. I loved the emotions shared between father and daughter during the first look. I also loved Myles reaction when he turned around and saw Ellen for the first time. These two are so sweet together and I loved getting to document their love behind the camera!

Their backyard wedding ceremony was nothing short of perfect. They had ideal open space to hold the ceremony and I loved their simple yet beautiful ceremony décor. My cousin Brody played music for the ceremony, while my sisters Cady and Mallory sang. It was truly lovely. Ellen and Myles also incorporated a tree planting ceremony with their two little boys, and it was so darling to watch the four of them plant the tree together.

After the ceremony, we all hopped on a party bus and headed to an old barn where we hung out and took some fun photos! It was such a blast. After that, we came back and headed into the reception where there was great music, beautiful speeches, and delicious food. It was such a great time, and I’m so thrilled that I got to document this day for Ellen and Myles, all while being surrounded by my entire family at the same time!
