Sunset Family Session at Marshall’s Beach, San Francisco

I photographed my dear friends at what might be my absolute favorite location ever – Marshall’s Beach in San Francisco. I have really fallen in love with family sessions on the beach because the west coast shoreline is such an interactive playground for children. There are treasures washed up on shore, sand for building castles, and lapping waves that’ll play a never-ending game of tag with you! And that’s just the start. We drew in the sand, did some rock hopping, hiked down the entire beach thanks to low tide, and witnessed an epic sunset with seagulls and pelicans galore. Check out the awesome sea anemones the kiddos found! They are so cool, I feel like they never get old.

The hike down to Marshall’s Beach is just epic. Families with little ones can do it, too! Just take your time.

Thankfully the tide was low so there was plenty of space to explore!
This golden light and the suuuper long shadows is my absolute faaaaaaavorite!!
So. Many. Pelicans.
Jellyfish.
Sea anemones!!!
So many great captures of the kids with their puppy.
This might be my favorite image from their entire gallery. I can’t get over the light reflecting on the wet sand.
Mama snuggles. 🙂
So sweet. <3
Of course they found a fort! 😀
The sky was absolutely breathtaking that evening!
I always grab a few “smile at me” photos at every session. I know many people enjoy having them for holiday cards and grandparents. 🙂
A boy and his dog.
One of my favorite prompts: Pick your kid up and spin them around!
If you look closely, you’ll notice the sundog that my camera lens created that surrounds the family.
Another favorite.
These mother and son pics are so sweet. 🙂
The epic traverse up, up, up.
The fog is starting to settle in over Golden Gate Bridge.

Be sure to leave this beautiful family some love in the comments below. <3
