Dreamy Family Session in Redwood Regional Park

I am so excited to share this family session with you! Patara and John drove all the way up from San Jose to meet me at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park for their family session. This was my first photo session at Redwood Regional Park; I had scouted it maybe three weeks before. I was so happy they chose this location for their family session and I was super excited to shoot there! It’s a massive park that has rolling hills filled with wild California poppies, a myriad of redwood groves to explore, and oaky woods to peruse. Unfortunately it can be a bit of a walk between the different locations. When you’re photographing two kids under three years old, you want to keep the walking to a minimum! 😀

Funny thing, when I arrived at the grove I had planned for our session, there was actually a small wedding about to happen! There were tables with decorations, guests dressed in their best walking into the woods (with beer in hand!), and musicians playing. It was actually really nice having some music in the background while we took photos! Thankfully the gathering was small enough and the redwood expanse is big enough that we were easily able to explore elsewhere and stay out of the wedding party’s way.

During our time together we gazed in awe at the towering redwood trees, picked wildflowers (that were in abundance), and the kiddos enjoyed some snacks partway through. Snacks are always a good idea when you’re photographing little ones. The entire session was super relaxed and easygoing which is my favorite way to work.

Thank you so much, Patara and John, for allowing me to capture some beautiful moments of your charming family! I hope you love these photos as much as I do.

Warmly,

Skyler
